I think you're spot on , he realises there's a certain intellectual satisfaction in being regarded as well read scientifically , unfortunately for him his opinions on science are mostly sketchy.
Recently he said that I believe something came from nothing ( which I never stated) when I asked him " whats nothing " he couldn't answer.
His knowledge of the bible is appalling to say the least.

It just dawned on me as I was typing my response to you... He appears far more interested in portraying himself as some kind of intellectual hobbyist with science then he is in proclaiming/defending his bible and faith. Why else would he run from explaining the bible and dismiss any inquiry concerning why the bible says what it does as an attack on his personal faith? I'd think a Christian would jump at the chance to explain biblical insights on slavery and other things.

The Bible is a historical document as well as a religious one. It has about 60 different people that have been corroborated by other historical evidence - often centuries before there was any other known evidence To claim the have no historical value is silly

You seem to think that because some scribe wrote something down wrong that God is obligated to that. That's irrational. There are entire fields of study given to this area such as textual criticism, which traces the history of the text and its variants. Philological criticism, which is the study of the biblical languages for an accurate knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, and style of the period. Form criticism, tradition criticism, and literary criticism. The Christian tradition has never claimed that things like inerrancy applied to every copy manually written down of the Bible throughout time. It seems your hatred towards God has made it difficult for you to make such distinctions.

The pretence that this slaughter is a war is ludicrous.
At the start of this whole sad saga Israel had its supporters now the condemnation is from every corner of the globe even their best buddies the American government has said enough is enough.
The ridiculous charade of pretending they're after Hamas is played out , the last straw being the slaughter of aid workers and the destruction of humanitarian aid one cannot go much lower.
The Jews who never stop whining about previous suffering are perfectly fine when it's them dishing it out , the truly remarkable thing is they have played into the hands of Hamas as worldwide the detestation for Israel grows.

But we have seen the Jews blow up 30,000 Palestinians.
Just to clarify this has nothing to do with what happened to the Jews before or what accomplishments they make. Unlike some half brained biased people I am not judging Israel because of what they are nor am I judging Palestinians for what they are. I am not taking sides at all.
The Israelis have gone way over the top and now there knocking humaniterian food deliverers from different countries. What are they going to do next? I only ask that because so far they are getting worser and worser with there attacks to achieve there objectives. What ever they might be since Nettin Yahoo seems to be changing the gold posts each time he is asked.
